In its third year and set across two days, Bride: The Wedding Show at Ascot has grown exponentially, now spanning two floors of Ascot Racecourse’s events venue. Nearly 100 exhibitors came to showcase their products and expertise, welcoming excited brides to their stands to discuss their needs while offering advice to better their big day. Covering cakes, flowers, dresses, photography, entertainment, beauty, transport and more, the show allowed visitors the chance to ponder their wedding day wishes and make informed decisions with local suppliers.

Bride-to-be Emily Daniels of Wendover was amazed by the amount on offer, saying: “I didn’t know what to expect – this is our first show, we only got engaged on 28th February. It’s been really enjoyable and I never knew there was so much choice.”

Wedding venue, The Royal Berkshire were particularly thrilled with the event. Natassia Robinson, wedding and events co-ordinator, said: “It’s been a success. Quite a lot of the brides hadn’t heard of us before, so it has been a good advertising opportunity. Especially being in the local area; even if brides have already found their venue, just knowing about us and the other things that we offer, like afternoon teas, has been beneficial.”

A busy schedule of entertainment served to enhance the feel-good vibe of the event, with three musical acts taking to the stage in the café throughout the day. Karizma, The Rockafellas and Belle Voci provided a range of vocal performances to gee up the crowds and promote their services.

Emily and Sophie of classical act Belle Voci, said: “We had a marvellous time. It was such a lovely atmosphere and the stage worked perfectly for us.”

And the fun didn’t stop there, as the catwalk shows offered a stunning spectacle that presented a selection of bridal, occasion and menswear to the enthralled crowd. Taking place three times each day to a packed-out audience, the catwalk featured designs from show sponsors The Wedding Warehouse, Borrowed Blue and Lace, Confetti, Allure Bridals, Slaters and Moss Bros.

Show-goer Catherine Law of Ascot commented: “I loved the catwalk show – it was amazing. So fun and lots of energy, the boys in particular. There was a nice selection of dresses; I’ve even tried some on, which I didn’t expect to be able to do.”

As well as event-exclusive discounts, offers and competitions, the first 100 brides through the door also took home jam-packed goody bags which contained a wealth of products from the show’s exhibitors. Biscuits from The Blushing Cook, mascara by Benefit Cosmetics and a confetti sample from Shropshire Petals were just some of the inclusions that brides could take home and enjoy.
